Dr. Joe Hendricks
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Joe attended University of California – Irvine and University of California – Davis. Prior to entering UC Davis’ School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joe graduated from Veterinary School in 1982 and moved to Owosso, MI with his wife, Susan (who is also an animal practitioner), where he worked in a mixed animal practice for seven years. In 1990 Dr. Joe and Dr. Sue opened Briarwood Veterinary Hospital in Grand Blanc. Dr. Joe and Dr. Sue have two girls, Kristen, 26 years old, and Katie, 24. Both girls are in graduate school. Dr. Joe also lives with three cats – all orphans at one time that Dr. Sue has hand raised. And in the last year Dr. Joe adopted Mason, a stray black lab mix.
Dr. Amy Webb-Kallin
Graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She joined the staff of Briarwood Veterinary Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in 2004. Dr. Amy is married and has two little girls. She also has a Havanese dog named Ellie.
Cindy Carney, Practice Manager
I have been a licensed veterinary technician since 1988. I graduated from Macomb Community College. Started working for Briarwood Veterinary Hospital in April of 2013. I live in Clarkston with my Boston terrier "Miya."
Jen A. LVT
Technician Assistant the past two years. Started as receptionist at BVH in November 2006 – married with two daughters, three cats, and one dog. I enjoy reading, sewing, and most outdoor activities.
Stacy (Receptionist/ Technician Assistant)
Hi! My name is Stacy, I’m a receptionist/tech assistant and have been part of the Briarwood family for 15 years now. I have a beautiful 13 year old daughter named Mackenzie. We also have two dogs, Maddie and Max, and a cat named Wilma. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
Hi I am Jan, I am the head receptionist at Briarwood. I have been with Briarwood since 1996. I have 4 dogs, Cedar a German Shepherd, Birch a yellow lab, Sage a poodle mix and my newest baby Vivy who is a chihuahua and 3 cats. In my free time I like to golf , go up north to my cabin and spend time with my 3 grandkids.
I started working at Briarwood in September of 2014 as a receptionist. I am the youngest child in my family. My parents are retired teachers and my brother is a teacher in Waterford. My husband is a pipefitter. We have three children, two goldens, who are therapy dogs, and two cats. I have always loved, rescued and cared for animals.
Sara Gonsler (Kennel tech)Sara also works has horse boarding at her aunts barn. Also attending college, pursuing veterinary medicine
She is currently a tech asst. but she is pursuing her LVT.
